Ford Mustang Voted “Manliest” Cars in U.K. Survey

If you buy cars based on their machismo and reputation, this list — compiled by U.K. shaving cream company Bluebeards Revenge — may be of interest. The company has released the results of its survey on which cars the U.K. public thinks are most “manly.” Topping the charts was the all-American Ford Mustang.

The survey was conducted via email and tallied results from 1835 people. Following the Mustang, which received 21 percent of the vote for the title of “manliest motor,” were the Aston Martin DB7, Land Rover Range Rover, Dodge Viper, Hummer H1, Dodge Ram, BMW X5, Porsche 911, Lamborghini Countach, and Ferrari GTO.

On the other end of the scale, survey respondents voted the Volkswagen Beetle as the least-manly car on the planet, scoring 31 percent of that vote. The second least-manly car? The Mazda MX-5 Miata, which was then followed by the Ford Ka, Toyota Prius, Nissan Cube, Nissan Micra, Smart Fortwo, Honda Jazz (aka. Fit), Peugeot 205, and Fiat Barchetta.

“The Mustang is certainly what you would describe as a ‘real mans car’” said Bluebeards Revenge spokesman Nick Gibbens. “Our brand is marketed as the world’s manliest grooming range… which was why we set out to crown planet Earth’s most manly car.”
