With GM’s recent announcement that the new global Colorado would be offered in the U.S. many are wondering where Ford stands in the midsize pickup conversation.

At first glance, it would seem the company is putting the bulk of its resources behind the F-150 in the U.S. market, and letting the Ranger die a slow, lonely, forgotten death in the U.S. market. Yet the company has an excellent, handsome truck in the new global Ranger model sold in Southeast Asia and other world markets, complete with an available five-cylinder turbodiesel cranking out a tasty 347 lb-ft of torque.
