2025 Ford Maverick Trim Levels Explained
There are five vehicle variants in our new Ford Maverick inventory, ranging from fantastic light work vehicles to luxury family rides to off-roading beasts.

2025 Ford Maverick XL
The most efficient, no-nonsense standard pickup you've ever seen. The 2025 Maverick XL is the most affordable model and wastes no space on unnecessary features. Its 2.5-liter hybrid engine boasts up to a 4,000-pound tow rating1 and can achieve the highest Ford Maverick gas mileage at an EPA-estimated 42/35 MPG (City/Highway).2 A 13.2-inch central touchscreen welcomes you to the dashboard, while SYNC 4 technology lets you seamlessly connect to your smartphone. Ford Co-Pilot360™ features an array of driver assistance technologies, including Auto High-Beam LED and Pre-Collision Assist with Emergency Braking, that can be further enhanced through available packages.
Accessible, comfortable, and hard-working, the Maverick XL is an excellent choice for truckers needing a maneuverable pickup with enough capability to make smaller tasks easy.

2025 Ford Maverick XLT
But if you want some extra luxury while keeping your model versatile, the XLT is still well within reach. Add popular features like a standard 2K Trailer Hitch Receiver (with a four-pin connector) and a cargo bed cubby storage space, and you'll have more convenience as you prepare for vacations or want to store equipment for easy access. It also features more advanced technology, including a perimeter alarm to deter thieves and Intelligent Access with Push Button Start, ensuring a smooth start to the day. For drivers who like the XL but just want a few more storage and convenience features, the XLT is perfect.

2025 Ford Maverick Lobo
The Lobo is our first of two trim levels that only offer the 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, rather than a choice between that engine and the hybrid 2.5-liter option. That's because, when you select the Lobo, you're choosing the most athletic Maverick in our showroom, with the stitching and accents that yearn for the course. The all-exclusive Lobo Mode is a closed-track drive setting that improves acceleration, throttle, and torque to send you ripping down the track. It also features a more comprehensive list of driver assistance technology standards, including a Lane-Keeping Aid, to help keep your investment safe.
Out of all five 2025 Ford Maverick trim levels, the Lobo is for those who need thrills front and center.

2025 Ford Maverick Lariat
The Lariat model is replete with luxuries: An eight-way heated power driver's seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, and ambient lighting work together to transform your cabin into a home away from home. The premium B&O® Sound System by Bang & Olufsen® keeps the ambiance perfect, while the central touchscreen is updated to be even more responsive. Add on the high-gloss painted grille, LED box lighting, wireless charging pad, and the Ford Co-Pilot360™ Assist 2.0 suite, and you have a truck that meets the demands of every family.

2025 Ford Maverick Tremor
The last stop on our tour is the 2025 Maverick Tremor, a beast among the Ford Maverick trim levels with a focus on off-roading chops. You'll notice that at every angle; the off-road tuned suspension with lockable rear differential, for example, feels just as good off the beaten trail as it will driving down the interstate. Your minimum ground clearance increases to 9.1 inches with the Tremor, enough to clear most obstacles with room to spare. For tricky off-roading situations, skid plates and an optimized front-bumper approach angle help you navigate.
Feel the call of the wild? Let the Maverick Tremor take you off the beaten path with luxury features and trail capability.

2025 Ford Maverick Engine Options
As we've discussed earlier, the majority of models have a choice between two unique and potent engines: a hybrid and an all-gas option. The latter has exceptional horsepower and torque for its displacement, but the former excels in MPG ratings, making both powertrains a reasonable choice for any of our Ford Maverick trim levels.
- 2.5-Liter Hybrid Four-Cylinder: 191 horsepower, 155 pound-feet of torque, standard FWD (AWD available), max towing capacity of 4,000 pounds,1 max payload limit of 1,500 pounds (AWD),5 EPA-estimated 42/35/38 MPG (City/Highway/Combined)2
- 2.0-Liter EcoBoost Four-Cylinder: 250 horsepower, 277 pound-feet of torque, standard AWD, max towing capacity of 4,000 pounds,1 max payload limit of 1,500 pounds (AWD),5 EPA-estimated 22/30/25 MPG (City/Highway/Combined)6

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Ford Maverick has a hybrid engine?
Most Ford Maverick models come standard with a hybrid engine and have access to a 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine. However, the Lobo and Tremor levels do not come with a hybrid engine; instead, they feature the turbocharged 250-horsepower all-gas engine. That means an XL, XLT, or Lariat model will, by default, have the 2.5-liter hybrid four-cylinder engine.
Which Ford Maverick trim level is best for towing and hauling?
While most Ford Maverick trims have exceptional capability and versatility, the best one for towing and hauling is the XL. As the least expensive and least feature-rich trim, the XL has the highest effective payload capacity. It's also able to reach the truck's 4,000-pound maximum tow rating when properly equipped. On this point, you'll need the 4K Tow Package before towing that weight.
Is AWD available on all 2025 Ford Maverick trims?
Yes, AWD is either standard or available for all 2025 Ford Maverick trim levels. For the XL, XLT, and Lariat, you'll need to select a model with AWD. The Ford Maverick Lobo and Tremor come standard with four-wheel drive, making them even easier to control in slippery or uneven conditions. Ask us if you have any questions about the drivetrain of your chosen pickup.
